Joan Smalls Rodriguez was born and grew up in Hatillo, Puerto Rico. Smalls has appeared in campaigns and shows for, amongst others, Gucci, Lacoste, Gap, H&M, Givenchy, Roberto Cavalli,Giambattista Valli, Chanel, Fendi, Fendi eyewear, Calvin Klein Jeans, David Yurman, Mercedes-Benz, Barneys New York,Ports 1961, Ralph Lauren, Rag & Bone, Versace, Prabal Gurung and Stella McCartney.

In 2011 Estee Lauder signed her to its line-up of global beauty ambassadors. Smalls became the first Latina face of the company.

She has appeared in editorials for several international editions of Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, i-D, GQ, Dazed & Confused, American and Spanish V Magazine, Glamour, and W Magazine. Her international Covers include Vogue Australia, Vogue Italia, Vogue Japan, Vogue Turkey, Vogue Brazil etc.

 I had a great week! I did all my test well,I got A in Music,Biology,French and Serbian! Yay! Since it's firday today,i'm totally relaxing all day long. Listening to music,eating pizza like usual for friday! :) Watching Hollywood Heights right now and waiting for How I Met Your Mother to start. I have been listening to Coldplay whole week and if there is any song that can always,but always make me cry that's 'The Scientist' , perfect,just perfect song. Going to watch 'Harry Potter & The halfblood prince' tomorrow night - did I meniton how much I love Ralph Fiennes? Oh,I'm so in love with him.
I have to study a lot this weekend but I'm really going to try to enjoy my free time as much as I can! :)
